Snow Removal Bid - 2026-2027 School Year

Legal Notice

Rankin School District #98 is requesting bids for snow removal service for all drives and parking areas located solely at 13716 5^th Street, Pekin, IL 61554.  Some clarifying information is provided below, but bids must include the following:

1. A total fee for snow removal for each of the following event increments:  2-4.9” of snow, 5-8.9” of snow, and 9 or more inches of snow.
   1. 1” of snow normally does not require a snow removal event, but if it does it will be for the quoted price for the 2-4.9” increment of snow.  Coordination takes place with the contractor in making this determination. 
   2. Some winter storms require multiple snow removals as a storm stops, starts, and/or blows, which triggers a new event cost for the snow removal. 
   3. Coordination takes place with the contractor for the timing of snow removal with school activities for storms and/or for blowing snow during school hours.
   4. If a winter storm requires snow to be removed off site, contractor may charge an additional fee. 
2. For storms before school, contractors must start no later than 6:00 a.m. and complete all snow removal by 7:00 a.m. on school days.
3. Salt services are not included in this bid.
4. This bid request is solely for the 2026-2027 school year.
5. Submit proof of insurance with your bid.

Bids must be sealed and marked as “bid for snow removal.” Bids are due on or before 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at which time a bid opening will be conducted.  Sealed bids should be sent or delivered to Dr. Matt Gordon, Superintendent, Rankin School District #98, 13716 5^th Street, Pekin, IL 61554.   Questions can be directed to Dr. Gordon at mgordon@rankin98.org or 309-346-3182.
