Remote Learning Procedures and Expectations

Remote Learning Procedures and Expectations

OVERVIEW

This represents our District’s general procedures and expectations for Remote Learning and is subject to change.  Please be aware that these procedures and expectations are in addition to each individual teacher’s specific expectations.

Students with documented reasons may contact the Administrative Team to be considered for approval for Remote Learning.  The District expects all Remote Learning requests associated with documented reasons to be emailed to the Administrative Team (Mrs. McLaughlin (amclaughlin@rankin98.org) and Dr. Gordon (mgordon@rankin98.org) on/or before August 11th.   While August 11th is the target date, it would be very beneficial to have Remote Learning requests emailed on or before August 7th.  The District would greatly appreciate this additional time for planning purposes.

Our District is not requiring a student to participate in In-person Learning or Remote Learning for a specific length or duration of time.   We want our students to learn and succeed, and given the fluidity of this pandemic, it is extra important that our District show some flexibility and allow for adjustments to be made for our students.   We will work together to strive to maintain consistency and make appropriate adjustments, when beneficial.  Please understand that the District’s willingness to be flexible is not an open invitation for your child’s learning plan (i.e. In-Person Learning or Remote Learning) to change continuously.

The District will meet (in-person or virtually) with the individual students and parents who request Remote Learning to review the documented reasons.

If a student is approved for Remote Learning, an Individualized Remote Learning Plan (i.e. subjects, skills, attendance, and assessment) will be created.
