On Saturday, February 14th, 19 Rankin Chess Club members attended the Annual Tazewell County Chess Tournament at Georgetowne Middle School in Marquette Heights. It was an exciting day of competition and 6 Rankin students placed in their grade level divisions.
4th Grade
Gavin Morgan = 1st place
Cody Catton = 4th place
Cameron Gillespie = 8th place
Jarad Presley = 9th place
7th Grade
Austin Gillespie = 2nd place
8th Grade
Sean Linden = 3rd place

Who: Youth from pre-K-8th grade
Where: Hult Education center 5215 North Knoxville, Peoria, Illinois
When: Friday nights from 6:30-8:30pm
Cost: $1.00 entry fee per student
*The Greater Peoria Chess Foundation provides chess sets and tutoring
