Leader of the 4th grade Learning
Teaching 4th grade

by Hilarie Clevenger
February 17, 2006

Welcome to 4th grade.  My name is Hilarie Clevenger.  I am so excited that you are here!!

I grew up in Oklahoma, most of which was on the Osage Indian Reservation.  I graduated from Pawhuska High School in Osage County in Oklahoma.  We moved to Plano, Texas for 1 year before finding ourselves in Illinois.

I have always wanted to become a teacher, but I took the scenic route to get here. I graduated from Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, IL with an A.A. in Child Care and worked in the childcare industry for 10 years.  I did everything from clean toilets to owning the facility.  After my son started his school career, I went back to school to finally achieve my dream.  So, here I am!!!!

I attended National Louis University out of Chicago.  I graduated in 2003 and began teaching at Rankin in the fall of 2003.

In the summer of 2004, I married my sweetheart, Terry. We are currently living in Mapleton near the Peoria Airport.  Our son, Noah, attends 11th grade at Limestone High School and Terry works at Lincoln Prison as an RN in Lincoln, Il.
