RNJHS Membership Requirements

How do I qualify for the RNJHS?

To become a member of the Rankin National Junior Honor Society, students must meet the following requirements:

1.  Scholarship
Cummulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher
Must have 6 qualifying quarters- 3 of those quarters must be completed at Rankin School. Qualifying quarters may begin in 5th grade.
Membership is open to qualified second semester 6th graders as well as students in the 7th and 8th grades.

2.  Application - Students fill out a Student Activity Information Form demonstrating their outstanding performance in the 5 criteria of leadership, service, citizenship, character, and scholarship.

3.  Selection by the Faculty Council - The Student Activity Information Form is used by the Faculty Council to evaluate student's qualifications for membership.  Qualifying students are recommended by the Faculty Council to the Principal and Faculty Advisor for membership.

4.  Induction - Qualifying applicants are inducted into the RNJHS in a formal induction ceremony in the spring.

5.  Involvement - RNJHS members work to further the ideals of leadership, service, citizenship, character, and scholarship in their school and community.
